When you buy a soda and a candy bar or a fresh meal from Trolley House or anything in the market, you can use your ATM card to pay, just like using your card at the grocery store to buy tonight's dinner for the family.
However, every once in a while there will be a bank that isn't watching their transactions properly and will mark a purchase as ATM and charge a fee. That's happened just twice in tens of thousands of purchases. It's easy enough to fix by calling your bank and telling them it was a market, but that's the exception rather than the norm.
