In honor of The Great Gatsby’s return to the big screen, this week we are serving up Manhattans. We can picture Jay and Nick leisurely sipping these cocktails on a Thursday afternoon and we wanted to join in on the fun! The Manhattan is said to have made its debut at the Manhattan Club in New York City in the early 1870’s. A traditional Manhattan is made with whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitters. The traditional drink is to be made with rye whiskey. However, these days the Manhattan can be made with bourbon or Canadian whisky. Whatever way you choose to mix your Manhattan, we are pretty sure The Great Gatsby would approve!
